Educate. Inform. Advocate.

What is happening in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD)?

Extremists aim to discredit our school officials, spread discontent and fear in parents, instill their own religious and political beliefs into classrooms, and destroy our public schools. They are funded and guided by wealthy, far-right political organizations. We resolve to prevent these groups from undermining our well-established and successful public schools.

Join Us to Support Public Education

We strongly believe in our California public school system and our state’s Department of Education. We have confidence in the guidance and decisions made by our state’s public officials. We are opposed to the politicizing of our schools, curriculum, teachers, and staff.  We believe in equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in California’s public schools.

Livermore Community for Public Education (LCPE) is a group of parents, students, teachers, staff, grandparents, and Livermore residents with a common mission: to educate, to inform, and to advocate.

Our Mission

Inform

LCPE informs the community of concrete actions individuals and groups can take to combat misinformation, book banning, or any effort to threaten California standards aligned curriculum. LCPE encourages community members to write to our school board, speak up at meetings, and advocate for marginalized individuals.

Educate

LCPE educates the larger Livermore community about happenings in LVJUSD, schools, and classrooms. LCPE seeks to bring fact-based information to the community while debunking misinformation spread at school board meetings and on social media.

Advocate

When students feel safe, students are most able to learn. LCPE supports historically underrepresented students, teachers, and staff members in the LVJUSD community. LCPE advocates for inclusivity, diversity, and equity and focuses our efforts on Black, Indigenous, students of color, LGBTQ+ youth, and other groups being unjustly targeted in our community.
